A Disappointing Experience at the End of Our Trip

We were excited to end our Sri Lanka journey at this hotel but found it underwhelming. Although the ocean view from our room was fantastic, the overall cleanliness and maintenance left much to be desired. We enjoyed live music during dinner, but the service was painfully slow and disorganized. For a better experience, try nearby local restaurants for authentic cuisine.

I cherished my time at this charming hotel, perfectly positioned to explore nearby attractions like the National Museum of Colombo, almost 2 km away, and the bustling Galle Face Green just a few steps from the entrance, making it easy to soak in the local culture while enjoying picturesque ocean views.

Staying at this historic gem with my sister was a delight. The gorgeous sea view from our room and the fantastic buffet breakfast were highlights. We loved winding down at the pool after exploring the city, truly an oasis of calm in Colombo.

The sea-view room offers a stunning perspective of the sunset, definitely a plus for any moment spent relaxing there. Unique touches like a bagpiper playing during the lowering of the national flag create a memorable atmosphere, reminiscent of a bygone colonial era.

The property shows signs of aging, evident in the musty odors permeating the corridors, which might not sit well for everyone. Some aspects, like the function of the lift, can be quite concerning. it malfunctioned more than once during our stay. The pool water tends to be on the saltier side, making it less refreshing than one might expect in a hotel of this stature.
